36th International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors

Abstract

This proposal seeks support for the 36th International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors: Foundations of Quantum Technology (ICPS2024). ICPS is a flagship conference of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics Commission on Semiconductors (C8) with a long tradition of bringing together scientists from around the globe working in this active and exciting field with great societal impact. The ICPS meeting is the premier forum for reporting all aspects of semiconductor physics including electronic, structural, optical, magnetic and transport properties and device applications. The conference will reflect the state-of-the-art in semiconductor physics as the basis for technology which currently permeates all our lives. In addition, recognising the current drive andpublic excitement, quantum technologies will be an important component of ICPS in 2024. The ICPS runs every second year and normally attracts close to 1000 participants covering all aspects of physics and technology of semiconductors. In 2024 ICPS will take placeat the Shaw Congress Centre in Ottawa, Canada. The meeting will accelerate knowledge dissemination in the area of semiconductors, which are materials of great importance to the Office of Naval Research.
