23rd Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI)
Abstract
The Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI) is an annual conference organized by the SMIA - Sociedad Mexicana de Inteligencia Artificial / Mexican Society for Artificial intelligence. The 23rd edition will be hosted in Puebla, Mexicoby Instituto Nacional de AstrofÃsica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE ) and Universidad de las Americas Puebla (UDLAP ) on October 21stto 25th, 2024. Both INAOE and UDLAP serve as a key educational and research hub for the region. The main goal of MICAI is to bringtogether researchers, students, and industry specialists in the areas of AI providing an environment for the discussion of findingsand rapid dissemination of research in Mexico. The scientific program includes keynote lectures, paper presentations, tutorials, workshops, and an industrial panel, with a strong participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students. In this way, MICAI contributes to the advance of the state-of-the-art by bringing together researchers from diverse subfields of AI, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, networking, and the exchange of ideas on real-time. Additionally, presenters receive immediate feedback on their work through Q&A sessions and informal discussions, which can shape the direction of ongoing research. Moreover, the workshops and tutorials bring the possibility for students and researchers to be welcomed in different specializations. Finally, the industrial panel and demonstrations of practical applications contribute to the industry-academia interaction for motivating the knowledge transfer and practical applications of theoretical advances.MICAI is a blind peer-reviewed international conference with an acceptance rate of around 25% for the main session (~100 papers). Papers accepted for long oral presentation will be published by Springer in a volume of the series Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence LNAI (WoS, Scopus, EI). Additionally, MICAI awards the best paper (1st,2nd, and 3rd places) and the extended versions of selected papers to be published by a journal special issue, including ISI JCR-indexed journals.
