High Accuracy Radar Cross Section Analysis via the Nonstandard FDTD Method

Abstract

The research focuses on a radar cross section (RCS) analysis of modern fighter aircrafts in the challenging scenario of continuous wave illumination. To this objective, we investigate a subgridding technique incorporated in the 3D non-standard FDTD method. We also try to accelerate its implementation times through GPUs and CUDA architectures. Consequently, it constitutes a very promising candidate for the RCS analysis of contemporary military aircrafts which comprise composite materials, demanding media interfaces, and arbitrarily-curved shapes.
