Abstract
12th edition of the Brazilian Congress on R&D in Oil, Gas, and Biofuels -The upcoming congress (https://www.pdpetro.com.br/12pdpetro/), scheduled from October30, 2024, to November 1, 2024, is dedicated to bringing together over 300 researchers, students, and professionals from the fields of petroleum, gas, biofuels, and renewable energies. The main objective is to promote discussions on scientific and technological advancements in these areas, also contributing to the development of technological trends and innovations in the energy and petroleum sector, regarding education, promotion, dissemination, publication of related materials, and professional practice.By organizing this event, we aim to establish solid partnerships and encourage collaborative projects through engagement and exchange of experiences among researchers in the energy, petroleum, and related fields. The congress will offer a variety of activities, including lectures, roundtables, short courses, oral presentations, and poster sessions, all designed to catalyze the enhancement of technical-scientific knowledge and its practical application in the industry.This year s central theme, highlighting the role of the petroleum industry in the energy transition, is aligned with sustainable development. Recognized nationally, now in its 12th edition, the congress serves as an essential forum for interaction, communication, and dissemination of R&D works and research related to petroleum, gas, biofuels, and renewable energies, contributing to the advancement of Petroleum Engineering and related technologies in Brazil.The scientific committee, composed of carefully selected members, will not only conduct the review of the works but also identify exceptional contributions to be published in the Brazilian Journal of Petroleum and Gas. This quarterly electronicjournal, linked to the Brazilian Association of Petroleum and Gas Research and Development (BJPG # ISSN 1982-0593), plays a crucialrole in disseminating research, aligning with the broader objective of promoting studies, research, and sustainable development projects in the petroleum, energy, and related fields. These initiatives will be clearly highlighted in our work plan, strengthening the achievement of public interest goals.This congress is held in partnership with the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Association (ABPG) and the UDESC Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers(SPE).
