On-Chip Frequency Tripler For Enabling 2f-3f Interferometric Locking of Microcombs

Abstract

Research under this effort is to develop efficient Third Harmonic Generator (THG) on silicon chips to enable comb locking through 2f-3f interferometric scheme. If successful, this will allow for creation of low power, low cost portable commercial device utilizing frequency referenced optical comb sources for applications to spectroscopy, meteorology, medical and biological science, environmental health and safety, and astronomy.
