Non-Traditional Agents Defense (ATD)
Abstract
Project NT3 develops future capabilities against emerging and novel threats and verifies current capabilities against Non-Traditional Agents (NTAs). This project focuses on demonstrating fast and agile scientific responses to enhance or develop capabilities that address emerging threats. This project is a comprehensive and focused effort for developing NTA defense capabilities, coordinated with specific interagency partners for doctrine, equipment, and training for the Warfighter and civilian population for defense against NTAs. This project supports advanced technology development of NTA defense science and technology initiatives and transitioning to advance development. After FY 2022, the Chemical Biological Defense Program (CBDP) RDT&E Projects were restructured to align with the CBDP portfolio construct. NT3 efforts in FY 2022 progress to Project UN3. This restructuring provides standardization and alignment across CBDP research, development and acquisition efforts. Individual efforts in this Project include: - Support an integrated approach to develop new or enhanced countermeasures against novel and emerging threats through innovative science and technology (S&T) solutions for detection, protection, decontamination and medical countermeasures (MCMs). - Efforts supply test methodologies and supporting science to verify capabilities, develop protection and hazard mitigation options, expand hazard assessment tools, and develop MCMs against NTAs.
