Multiscale Analysis of Spike-Timing Dependent Plasticity in Heterogeneous Circuits of Neurons

Abstract

Harvard will develop an approach that will combine microscopic parameters from experiments and network simulations in macroscopic models for neural microcircuits. Benefits of this work include theoretical tools that allow researchers to do a systematic analysis of neural microcircuits; understanding of stability of neural functions on the microscopic level; and multiscale theoretical analysis of cue-reward association in amygdala region of the brain.
