ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT COMPLIANCE CANDIDATE SPECIES TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD AT EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA

Abstract

The scope of work for this task order encompasses the full range of methods, technologies, and supporting activities necessary to perform a two season presence/absence survey for tricolored blackbirds breeding at Branch Park Pond within EAFB (see Figure 1); and to analyze 2014 – 2020 information related to EAFB Branch Memorial Park. This includes tricolored blackbird survey data/reports, survey data/reports from Woodstar Biological LLC, maintenance data/reports, water quality data/reports, and recreational use information for preparation of a Branch Park Pond vegetation management plan. A teaming arrangement with Woodstar Biological will be necessary for successful completion of this project. Work includes developing a tricolored blackbird survey/analysis work plan for approval by 412 CEG/CEVA, implementing the approved work plan over two field seasons, developing a Branch Park Pond vegetation management plan for maintaining tricolored blackbird breeding habitat while providing recreational access, and preparing a final technical report describing the findings and efforts of this project. The project will culminate in a final deliverable technical report describing the findings and efforts from 2014 -2020.
