Asbestos/Lead Database Development-Kadena AB

Abstract

The primary objectives of this study is to assist Kadena Air Base (KAB) with the optimal management of its asbestos and lead database to eliminate/minimize any direct or indirect impacts to its natural resources from potential soil/water contamination and to ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. Asbestos has been identified as damaging to wildlife through inhalation/ingestion and fish through water sources (US Fish and Wildlife Ecological Services) and lead poisoning in wildlife.
