Targeting and Triggering Basic Research Workshop and Review
Abstract
This workshop aims to unite experts in molecular recognition processes, facilitating largescale discussion of current research and deeper understanding of dynamic and responsive materials. Ideally, this workshop will catalyze the design and synthesis of new materials capable of responding to chemical and biological threats. The group will be composed of approximately 20-30 people from academia, industry, and government laboratories. Of these participants, roughly half will be from US institutions and half will be resident in the UK. Each scientist will give a 30 minute presentation on their research, highlighting potential technology gaps and proposing strategies to overcome challenges related to ÒTargeting and Triggering.Ó Each presentation will be followed by 10-15 minutes of group discussion. This workshop presents an opportunity to discuss research progress since the last workshop, share recent advances in dynamic and responsive materials, and identify technical challenges. More importantly, it is designed to stimulate novel ideas and foster new collaborations.
