Quantum Networking Conference

Abstract

The overall objective of this proposal is to hold a workshop for quantum repeaters and networks which brings the active research community from around the world together to discuss recent progress, continuing research challenges, and new possible research directions for quantum repeaters and networks. In order to achieve this objective, the workshop will invite researchers working on (1) key enabling technologies and (2) systems integration techniques in quantum repeaters and networks, along with (3) protocols for connecting repeaters across network links with high fidelity, (4) architectures for large-scale networks, and (5) applications of distributed quantum entanglement. In order to maximize the opportunities for productive and stimulating intellectual interaction among the workshop attendees, the workshop will utilize a meeting format where the majority of the sessions are dominated by open, yet structured discussions. The first day will cover a broad range of current research topics in the field and the second day will explore key enabling technologies and challenges in detail. Prepared presentations will be short and focused, and used to initiate the discussions.
