Workshop on non-linear spin-heat interactions

Abstract

The workshop convened on Sept. 16 and 17 in Columbus, Ohio. It consisted of 14 invited speakers with 45 minute presentations, vigorous discussion sessions, and a poster session. During the workshop several new theoretical insights were presented as well as exciting new experimental discoveries. The very interactive and informal nature of the workshop allowed a large variety of questions and criticisms to be presented providing very valuable feedback to all researchers in the field. The workshop provided a valuable guide for experimentalists and theoreticians to identify key problems in the field of research, and target appropriate short term and long term goals. Additionally, close interaction and informal discussion sessions provided a good venue to form new collaborations and foster international cooperation on spin caloritronics research.
