2016 Electronic Materials and Applications Meeting (EMA 2016) - Supporting Army Research Area 9: Materials Science
Abstract
Provide an international perspective and advance the state.-of-the-art in the field of electronic ceramic materials. Assemble a group of academic, government, and industry experts in the field of ceramic electronic materials for exchange of ideas and information at the 2016 Electronics Materials and Applications Meeting, to be held at Orlando, 20-22 Jan 2016. Topics are as follows. ¥ Dielectric, piezoelectric. pyroelectric, electrocaloric, magnetoelectric, magnetostrictive ¥ Eleotrostrictive and other ferroic properties ¥ Transport properties of multilayer multiferroics ¥ Thin film growth, materials design, processing, and integration ¥ Interfaces in multilayered ferroic heterostructures, functionally graded ferroics, artificial ¥ Multiferroics ¥ Structure: defects and doping; the relationship between materials growth, microstmcture, and the relation between microstructure and physical properties ¥ Theory and modeling ¥ Technological applications ranging from medicine to aerospace industry; tunable high dielectric materials for high frequency applications; micro-electro mehanical systems (MEMS); sensors, transducers, and non-linear optical devices; ferroelectric memories; active/smart materials; vibration damping, actuators, artificial muscles, self-assembled actuators and devices; electrocaloric heating/cooling.
