Exploration and Discovery of Signals in the Analog Domain

Abstract

Findings are reported on a short term innovative research project directed at establishing the requirements and capabilities for the discovery of broadband nontraditional signals. The work focused on the exploration of chaotic signals and quasi-periodic signals such as free-running oscillators. The work is relevant to the detection of signals that could be hard to detect. The work looked at the types of signals from a well-known chaotic source known as the Chua circuit and a free-running microwave oscillator. Major results are reporting on what works and what does not work in analyzing such signals.
