Network Frontier Workshop 2015

Abstract

The objective of this effort is to provide funding to support a workshop concerning the investigation of dynamical processes in complex networks. The workshop is expected to gauge the forefront of technological development in the field and to foster new cooperative links between multidisciplinary research groups. This workshop will host sessions focused primarily on two timely topics: 1) physical principles underlying the control of network systems and 2) patterns of synchronization and collective behavior in networks of coupled dynamical systems. Because of the cross-disciplinary nature of the workshop, experts will become aware of the latest developments in fields related to but different from their own. This is expected to generate new insights and stimulate new interdisciplinary collaborations. The inclusion of early-career researchers will help promote the transfer of expertise to the next generation of engineers, mathematicians, and physicists.
