Study Proposal:Transforming Terrestrial Agility At All Scales

Abstract

This study will address potential avenues for revolutionizing terrestrial agility at many of the scales important to U.S. Army needs. At minimum, there is a clear need for better vehicles that can safely leave the road and venture into unstructured terrain. More broadly, there is value in reformulating how mobility is approached, treating design, control, perception, and other factors as equals when making decisions about how to approach given requirements. We hope to provide concretely actionable and dramatically different concepts for terrestrial agility, in order to broaden the scope of what is technically feasible and dramatically expand the set of mobility capabilities currently available to forces.
