Symposium "Supramolecular Assemblies on Surface: Nanopatterning, Functionality and Reactivity"

Abstract

Funds are requested to provide support for the "Supramolecular Assemblies at Surfaces: Nanopatterning, Functionality, Reactivity" symposium to be held during the 2015 PACIFICHEM conference. The requested support will cover a portion of the meeting registration costs for invited speakers and symposium organizers. Molecular assembly at surfaces is a burgeoning field dealing with the use of hydrogen bonds, metal-organic coordination and van der Waals forces to form two-dimensional long range ordered patterns. The proposed symposium will span 3 days and will feature seminars from world-renowed speakers who will discuss cutting-edge research related to functional supramolecular structures at surfaces as well as surfaced-confined reactions, including the bottom-up synthesis of linear conjugated polymers and two-dimensional polymers.
