Mathematics: Probability and Statistics: Computational Probability: Explorations of Hybrid Symbolic-Probabilistic Mathematics

Abstract

This project will explore the foundations of the new area of Computational Probability, combining probability theory with symbolic computer languages to enable new understanding and capabilities within the individual fields of probability and of statistics. This proposal will create and explore a significant number (approximately 20 to 30) new families of distributions based on automating gener, uing functions, investigations which have not been attempted before due to their technical complexity. Biases of these will be explored, as well as the types of bootstrapping that may apply to these distributions. The resulting probability theorems will be communicated in journals and also publicly released as a symbolic package for the community
