FASEB Science Research Conference on Virus Structure and Assembly

Abstract

The FASEB Science Research Conference on Virus Structure and Assembly is the premier meeting for structural virology where biophysical approaches are used in combination with biochemistry and molecular genetics to understand all aspects of the virus lifecycle: host recognition and binding, entry, intracellular trafficking, viral uncoating, replication, assembly, maturation and exit. These topics are explored in formal talks, poster sessions, and intensive scientific discussion. The 2016 meeting will also have two special sessions to recognize novel and unifying developments in the field: Viruses as Tools, and Virus Evolution and Genomics. The 2016 FASEB Conference on Virus Structure and Assembly will be held July 24-29, 2016 in Steamboat Springs, CO. The scientific program will cover nine sessions (Virus architecture: How the pieces fit; Getting Into Cells; Getting Out of Cells; Virion assembly: Putting the pieces together; Host-Virus Interactions; Viruses as Tools; Viruses and Nucleic Acids: I; Viruses and Nucleic Acids: II; Virus evolution and genomics). These scientific topics will be explored in formal talks, poster sessions, and intensive scientific discussion. Each session will have 4-5 invited speakers presenting 30 minute talks and will also have 1-2 short talks selected from posters. These presenters will usually be graduate students or post-doctoral fellows.
