STIR: Scientific Exploration of Cyber-Driven Dynamic, Distributed Big Data Forensics Systems

Abstract

The objective of this proposal is explore a joint biometric-forensic theory and associated big data analytics framework and to create new knowledge in the space of digital forensics. There are three mini-thrust areas under the proposal: 1) PI will explore and create data-intensive computational methods and models that offer reliable DNA information processing for human authentication and verification. 2) PI will investigate emerging human and device signatures and their novel use in IoT forensic applications. 3) PI will explore and investigate the biometrics quality measures and applied to both biometrics data and hardware forensics such as PUF.
