Acquisition of a field-portable, laboratory-grade spectroradiometer

Abstract

The Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) is designed to improve the capabilities of U.S. Universities to conduct research and to educate scientists and engineers in selected technical areas of importance to national defense. DURIP funding provides for the acquisition of research equipment and instrumentation for this purpose. This proposal is for the purchase of a spectroradiometer with a spectral range of 350-2500 nm, a spectral resolution of 3 nm from 350-1000 nm and10 nm from 1000-2500 nm, and that is suitable for use in the field and the laboratory. The PI, Professor William Philpot at the Cornell University, will use the equipment to augment and enhance research in the area of the optical reflectance of earth surfaces.
