40th Workshop on Compound Semiconductors Devices and Integrated Circuits in Europe (WOCSDICE-EXMATEC 2016)
Abstract
From 6 to 10 June 2016, the city of Aveiro, Portugal, welcomes the 40th WOCSDICE Workshop on Compound Semiconductor Devices and Integrated Circuits held in Europe & 13th EXMATEC Expert Evaluation and Control of Compound Semiconductor Materials and Technologies, in a joint organisation between the University of Aveiro, IT Instituto de Telecomunicaoes (Aveiro unit) and the Associate Laboratory i3N/FSCOSD Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication (Aveiro unit hosted by the Physics Department of the University de Aveiro). WOCSDICE is an annual meeting with a long standing tradition, as it was established in 1973. The workshop brings together internationally recognised researchers as well as promising young scientists and engineers to disseminate stateofthearl research findings in the areas of compound semiconductor materials, associated devices and integrated circuits. Last WOCSDICE workshops were organized in Darmstadt Germany (2010), Catania Italy (2011), Island of Porquerolles France (2012), Warnemi.indc Germany (2013), Delphi Greece (2014) and Smolenice Castle Slovakia (2015). EXMA TEC has been based on biannual meetings for 20 years. The workshop is characterized by the presence of multidisciplinary wellknown distinguished experts, young and talented researchers and business delegates from all over the world lo present and exchange cuuingedge ideas and technologies in the fields of material fabrication, characterization and processing of compound semiconductors. Last EXMATEC workshops were organized in Darmstadt Germany (2010), Island of Porquerolles France (2012) and Delphi Greece (20 14). Both conferences have one shared day, representing an imporLant opportunity to acquire new knowledge as well as to exchange ideas on stateoftheart research and the latest advancements on devices and compound materials. The topics to be addressed include (although not necessarily limited to): Compoundbased devices; Device modelling; Applications of devices and structures; Organic electronics; Materials, nanomaterials and interfaces; Device process and characterization; Reliability aspects for materials, processes and devices. The Organizing and Steering Committees are honoured to invite all worldwide scientists to attend the 40th WOCSDICE and 13th EXMATEC combined events to share new and exciting results in the field of devices and compound semiconductors.
