Information Processing & Fusion (ARO): Quality-of-Information-Aware Data Collection and Analysis for Active and Collaborative Sensing

Abstract

The objective of this research is to create a new model that can accurately quantify the Quality of Information (i.e., correctness of sensory measurements, sensor reliability, and confidence of estimations) in collaborative sensing. The project has three research tasks to achieve the overall research objective. Task 1: Jointly estimate sensor reliability and measurement correctness without knowing either of them a priori using a principled analytic framework. Task 2: Accurately compute confidence bounds of estimations using well-grounded estimation theoretic results.
