6.1.2 (ARO): Contacting the Quantum Anomalous Hall State

Abstract

The purpose of the proposed research is to develop Hall bar structures in a material exhibiting the quantum anomalous Hall effect with normal and superconducting contacts to the same. Standard optical and e-beam fabrication schemes will be employed for sample patterning. Superconductors Al, Nb and NbN will be employed in an aim to achieve quality contacts. Much of the effort will be to determine which fabrication techniques provide the highest quality patterning and contacts to these rather new materials.
