Laser Ceramics Symposium 2016, 28 Nov - 2 Dec 2016

Abstract

The Laser Ceramics Symposium (LCS) on Transparent Ceramics for Photonic Applications is an annual international conference covering all cross-cutting topics in material science, spectroscopy and laser physics related to the realization, production, characterization and exploitation of transparent ceramics for lasers, optics and photonics applications. The conference provides a forum for material scientists, chemists and physicists to discuss about the state of the art of transparent ceramics, latest laser results and the perspectives for photonic applications. The previous conferences were successively held in Poland (2005), Japan (2006), France (2007), China (2008), Spain (2009), Germany (2010), Singapore (2011), Russia (2012), Korea (2013), Poland (2014), and China (2015). The topics covered by this conference are: ¥Synthesis of high purity powders and transparent ceramics ¥Oxide and non-oxide laser ceramics ¥New materials and novel fabrication methods ¥Ceramics machining and bonding ¥Future development of transparent ceramics ¥Composite structured laser ceramics ¥Optical spectroscopy and characterization ¥High power lasers and amplifiers ¥Applications of transparent ceramics (e.g. lasers, optics, windows, transparent armor) ¥Laser materials This year the Symposium will be held November 28th through December 2nd, 2016 at the convention center in Saint-Louis, France. We will keep the successful single-session format of the conference (including plenary, topical and poster sessions) and expect a large number of attendees from many countries worldwide.
