Chemical Countermeasures for CRISPR-Cas9/Cpf1 enzymes

Abstract

The CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat) system is a microbial adaptive immune system that has furnished transformative biomedical technologies for targeted genome and epigenome editing, sequence-specific DNA recognition, targeted gene expression or repression, and genome imaging. We propose to employ tools and principles from genome engineering, organic chemistry and chemical informatics, and structural and computational biology to develop precision control of CRISPR-technologies.
