ColdFlux: CAD Methodologies and Tools for Single Flux Quantum Based Superconductive Electronics

Abstract

The major goal of the Coldflux project is to develop EDA and TCAD flows and tools for automated synthesis from behavioral RTL to GDS-II, optimization, verification, and test of Superconductive Logic (SCL)-based circuits. Research work will thus focus on key SCL design challenges e.g., bias current delivery, current recycling, clock distribution, high latency, flux management, low margin/yield, process and device modeling, parameter extraction, design validation, PDK, tool scalability/design complexity management, core architectures, autoroute, and formal verification. The project is organized into 4 thrusts: Area 1: RTL Synthesis, Architectures, and Verification Area 2: Analog Design and Layout Synthesis Area 3: Physical Design and Test Area 4: Technology CAD and Cell Library Design
