ACM CCS 2016-2017 Student Travel Support
Abstract
This award provides travel support for students attending the Annual Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS). The ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) is the flagship annual conference of the Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (SIGSAC) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). SIGSACÕs mission Òis to develop the information security profession by sponsoring high quality research conferences and workshops.Ó The ACM CCS conference fulfills this mission by bringing together information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users from all over the world to explore cutting edge ideas and results. It provides an environment to conduct intellectual discussions. From its inception, CCS has established itself as a high standard research conference in its area and is closely related to the mission of Army and other DoD agencies. The success of the conference relies on the experience of senior members of the community but requires fresh ideas and new people to join the community. Today s students are tomorrow s leaders, and providing them with an opportunity to enhance their skill sets is a direct investment towards a better future. Attending CCS will be very beneficial to young scientists who otherwise would be unable to participate and will enable students to showcase their research, network with established researchers in the area, and exchange ideas and enhance their skills. The conference organizers actively encourage women and underrepresented minorities to attend CCS, aiming to foster diversity in the community.
