Advanced Computing Workshop
Abstract
This proposal seeks the support from ARO for the first Advanced Computing Workshop. Given the breadth of the Advanced Computing domain, this workshop aims to put together all the innovative initiatives in this field, providing a fruitful environment to the integration and collaboration between Brazil and USA. The Workshop focuses on all topics related with Advanced Computing and it is closely related to the mission of Army and other DoD agencies. The success of the Workshop relies on the experience of senior members and military researchers, but requires fresh ideas and new people to join the community. As such, we are requesting support from ARO that will be used for sponsoring the travel expenses for the members to attend the Workshop once we will use the University of S‹o Paulo - USP infrastructure to realize the event. In this proposal, the total amount requested is $30,000 on the basis of a travel grant for each selected member (approximately 50 people). The Workshop will be held in the University of S‹o Paulo (S‹o Paulo Campus) during June 29-30/2017. We believe attendance to Advanced Computing Workshop will be very beneficial to the integration and collaboration between Brazil and USA.
