Equipment for Advancing STEM Students In Education and Research (EASIER)
Abstract
The PIs will acquire equipment for use in both the field and laboratory, which will include GPS-equipped and ruggedized field tablet packages, cellular covert motion detector and time lapse camera packages, ultrasonic acoustic monitoring packages, servers and associated equipment, GIS-capable laptop and desktop computers, and iMac computers. The instrument will support multi-disciplinary research in environmental science, ecology, and geospatial analysis. Research topics that will be explored include research on environmental impacts on the health of culturally important food plants, animal habitats, and cultural sites. Several projects have been designed to offer a citizen science component.
