2018 Quantum Science Gordon Research Conference & Gordon Research Seminar

Abstract

We are organized the 2018 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Quantum Science, hold on July 29ÐAugust 3, 2018 at Stonehill College, Easton, MA. The Chairs for the meeting were Ana Maria Rey (JILA, University of Colorado) and Andrew Houck (Princeton University). The vice-Chairs were Markus Greiner (Harvard University) and Eugene Demler (Harvard University). The aim of this conference was to explore the research frontier in the field of quantum science. We will brought together 200 leading scientists who brainstormed a range of cutting-edge topics related to the broad scientific discipline of quantum science, touching on quantum information processing and communications, quantum simulations, quantum-limited metrology, and hybrid quantum systems. All discussions were conducted in a scientifically open and creative manner. Many young scientists including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows participated in this conference. We also hold a student-focused Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) July 28Ð29 (just before GRC). Michael Goldman (Harvard) and Edward Chen (MIT) were the student co-Chairs. The interaction between students and practicing scientists was a highlight of this conference.
