International Conferencce on Operando Spectroscopy
Abstract
The main objective of this conference is to bring researchers together to discuss the progress of Ooperando methodologies, i.e. characterization of catalytic materials in their working state. During operando studies, the behavior of working catalysts is probed using physico-chemical methods while simultaneously measuring the catalytic activity and product selectivity. The operando approach is an excellent one to elucidate catalyst structure-activity relationships at the molecular level. The importance of the approach is well recognized in both academia and industry, and the field has become well established research area in catalysis. It is expected that more than 200 researchers from all the world will attend this conference, and four plenary speakers, top researchers from USA, Germany, Denmark and Japan have confirmed the participation. The Operando Conferences stands on oral and poster presentations. The sessions include PLENARY and KEYNOTE lectures covering the topics. A book of abstracts will be generated with all contributions, plenary, keynote, oral and poster presentations. In addition, a special issue of the journal Catalysis Today (Elsevier, impact factor 4.636) will be published, devoted to this conference. It will not be proceedings, but full papers that will be submitted and follow the standard reviewing process. In order to give some awards to PhD students from all over the world, and especially from the US, to attend the conference, it is necessary to get some economical support, being this activity the main objective of present proposal. A call will be published and the international advisory board will evaluate all the received applications in order to select the PhD students that will receive the awards to attend the conference and to present their research works.
