International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory MMET-2018

Abstract

The conference is a regular biennial forum held in Ukraine since 1990, with objective to give a chance to discuss research results between the Ukraine, other ex-USSR, and the Western scientists in electromagnetics and applications. Both the novel and the traditional topics in electromagnetic wave theory are covered, especially electromagnetic wave propagation, scattering, dissipation, and emission across wide spectrum of frequencies from microwave to optics. Free character of discussion is ensured by English as the single official working language. MMET-2018 is organized by the non-profit organization: IEEE East Ukraine Joint Chapter, in cooperation with the IEEE IRE-Kharkiv Student Chapter and two other IEEE chapters in Ukraine, and the Commission B of the National URSI Committee. The formal Proceedings of MMET-2018 are to be published by the date of the meeting. More than 50% of participants are expected to be students and young scientists. More specifically, the program of MMET-2018 will cover the following topics: Antenna theory, asymptotic methods, beams and particles, complex media, computational techniques, eigenvalue problems, classical and non-classical electromagnetic theory, fiber optics, function-theoretical methods, gratings and frequency, selective surfaces, inverse problems, lasers, linear accelerator models, nonlinear phenomena, open waveguides, plasma and waves, plasmonics, propagation of waves, radar cross sections, radomes, random media, regularization techniques, rmote sensing models, rough surfaces, scattering and diffraction, time-domain methods, waveguide circuits and CAD. The venue of MMET-2018 will be the National Aviation University (NAU) in Kiev. The plenary sessions will be organized in the Conference Hall of the main building of NAU. The sessions of MMET-2018 will be held in the adjacent building, where two auditoriums and presentation facilities are available. Kiev is the capital city of Ukraine and has population of about 3.5 million. It has numerous hotels and is famous for mighty Dneiper River flowing across the city. The major international airport Boryspil is at the distance of 20mk from the city center. It is connected by daily flights with all major world capitals and other cities in Europe, Asia, and America. The estimate of the conference attendance is between 120 and 150 participants, including some 30 from the west.
