Workshop Support for Radar Innovation 2019

Abstract

The purpose of this request is to seek activities/travel support for the Workshop Support for Radar Innovation 2019 to be held in Austin, TX in April of 2019. The purpose of the meeting is to identify, discuss, and document fundamental research topics related to the next generation of sensor systems (especially in the context of big-data driven machine learning for optimizing array parameters in real-time for maximum performance). In total, 50+ participants will be invited, with attendees from around the nation. As we know, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory s Army Research Office (ARO) mission is to serve as the Army s principal extramural basic research agency in the engineering, physical, information, and life sciences, developing and exploiting innovative advances to ensure the nation s technological superiority. These ideals are in concert with the theme of this 2019 workshop. The nationÕs experts will convene at this workshop to discuss cutting-edge research in topics such as phenomenology, radar system architectures, military applications, signal processing, environmental applications, antenna technologies, and civil/security applications. The requested support will be used to support: (1) venue costs, and (2) travel reimbursement for professors.
