13th International Conference on Nitride Semiconductors (July 7-12, 2019)

Abstract

This proposal requests funding to partially support the 13th International Conference on Nitride Semiconductors, July 7Ð12, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency, Bellevue Washington, USA. The primary goal of this workshop is the promotion of science by providing a forum for exchange of knowledge among scientists and engineers working in the field of III-nitride semiconductor materials and devices. The organizers expect ICNS 2019 to be the year s prime forum for research results in this fascinating important system. Several plenary talks are planned with two each on the opening day and closing day. There will be ~ 20 invited talks, and the organizers expect over 700 abstract submissions. In addition, there will be two poster sessions. The invited speakers represent a diverse group of experts from leading institutions around the world. An exhibition of industrial expertise related to nitride semiconductor research will also take place at the conference. The proposed funding support will allow the conference to offer a reduced registration fee for student participants who will gain exposure to the new advances in semiconductor growth, fabrication technology, device physics, and entrepreneurship in electronics and optoelectronics. The timing of this workshop is perfect for this generation of students to learn how the new science and technology of semiconductors is developing.
