Artificial Intelligence Cybersecurity Workshop
Abstract
The Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Workshop is scheduled for Spring 2019 and will be led by Cyber security research community leader John Launchbury and Patrick McDaniel. The workshop seeks to address the key research challenges and opportunities at the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI). The workshop will discuss current and future research activities in this space, including potential research gaps. The workshop will discuss: ? Using AI to improve security - Using AI to understand threat models and to improve the detection of threats, the protection of systems, and the adaptation of systems to increase their resiliency to future cyber attacks - Developing defensive methods that effectively counter cyber-attacks that utilize AI capabilities ? Improving security of AI - Defining and understanding AI vulnerabilities - Improving resiliency of AI methods and algorithms to various forms of attacks The academic-led workshop will be held June 4-6, 2019 at the University of Maryland College Park Hotel in College Park, Maryland. The workshop will include subject matter experts from academia, industry, and the Federal Government. Funding is being requested to support non-government travel grants for invited participants.
