60th Sanibel Symposium. The Theory Meeting for Theoreticians: The Next Sixty Years

Abstract

This proposal requests support of $15K for the 60th Sanibel Symposium, ÒThe Theory Meeting for TheoreticiansÓ to be held, Feb. 16-21 at St. Simons Island, GA. The Sanibel meeting on the electronic structure of atoms, molecules, solids, and their biochemical applications is the largest annual meeting in the field. This yearÕs historic 60th anniversary meeting will take the opportunity to address some critical developments that will impact how the field develops over the next 60 years. Many of those new developments will build upon themes nurtured by QTP and its Sanibel voice, from density matrices, to Xa and DFT, to coupled-cluster theory, and beyond. The meeting has greatly benefited from the AROs support for many years and the 60th anniversary is a milestone that the organizers and the sponsors (ARO) can take pride!
