22nd Annual SQuInT Workshop

Abstract

This proposal is to provide supplementary funds to support participant costs for outreach undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers attending the 22nd Annual Workshop of Southwest Quantum Information and Technology (SQuInT) that is to be held February 8-10, 2020 in Eugene, Oregon. The 22nd Annual SQuInT Workshop will bring experts in quantum information science (QIS) together to present scientific talks and posters about recent research and educational findings, and provides a unique opportunity for researchers and graduate students to be exposed to and learn about research and educational techniques in QIS. SQuInT (http://squint.unm.edu/) is a network of universities, national laboratories, and industry, centered in the southwestern United States that was established in 1998 to help disseminate information and stimulate collaborations between groups in the Southwest region, and has grown to attract participants from around the world. SQuInT endeavors to include outreach each year by inviting and sponsoring U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to attend the Annual Workshop. Members of the SQuInT network include, Caltech, Los Alamos National Laboratory, NIST Boulder, Stanford, Sandia National Laboratories, University of Arizona, University of California Berkeley, University of California Santa Barbara, University of California San Diego, University of New Mexico, University of Oregon, University of Southern California, and University of Washington. Past SQuInT Annual Meetings have been hosted by the UC Berkeley (2015), University of New Mexico (2019, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2000, 1999), Caltech (2007, 2001), UC Santa Barbara (2013), University of Arizona (2005), LANL (2003), UC San Diego (2004), NIST-Boulder (2011, 2002), Louisiana State University (2017), and the University of Washington (2009).
