Wide-Bandgap (WBG) Semiconductor Workshop for Next Generation High-Frequency

Abstract

The Workshop on ÒUltra Wide-Bandgap (UWBG) Semiconductors for Future Army High-Frequency ApplicationsÓ will address the current state of the art and challenges in the areas of semiconductor materials, devices and applications. It will provide opportunities for a better understanding of material synthesis and properties, device design, processing and characterization as well as device implementation into circuits. The requirements for high frequency implementation and compliance with communication needs will also be addressed. Considerations on data-driven material, device and circuit studies will provide a new dimension in design and optimization. Main emphasis will be placed on approaches utilizing emerging UWBGs with large bandgap, better device functionality and performance and promising properties for high-frequency applications will also be considered.
