Workshop on Information Engines at the Frontiers of Nanoscale Thermodynamics

Abstract

This proposal requests funds to support the participation of prominent researchers in a workshop organized to spur progress on our Information Engines MURI: Title: Information Engines at the Frontiers of Nanoscale Thermodynamics.Co-Organizers: Korana Burke (UC Davis), James P. Crutchfield (UC Davis), and Sebastian Deffner (UMBC).Workshop dates: 23-31 July 2020.Location: Telluride Science Research Center, Telluride, Colorado, USA To complement and bolster continuing efforts on our Information Engines MURI (Information Engines: Nanoscale Control, Computing, and Communication Out of Equilibrium, ARO W911NF-13-1-0390), we are inviting individuals outside of that project from the national and international science communities working in the areas of statistical mechanics, complex systems, nonlinear dynamics, nonequilibirum thermodynamics, and quantum and biological physics.
