Trends in Food & Water Safety
Abstract
The Trends in Food & Water Safety conference aims to bring together academia experts, industry partners and US Army members for a two-day discussion on the areas of food and water safety, focusing on sensing and sustainable packaging. The main objective is to establish international alliances and facilitate the exchange of recent findings and new research techniques. The participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences, and to engage in discussions and debates on current issues and potential solutions. The conference will conclude with a brainstorming session in groups, creating the opportunity for future collaborations and joint grant applications. The conference will be held at the South Kensington campus of Imperial College London. South Kensington campus is at the heart of many educational and cultural sites, including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. The venue is easily connected by tube to the main airports and train stations and has the adequate facilities and equipment to support the conference activities. The program topics will cover a wide range of issues, including: (i) monitoring food and water safety; (ii) industry measures to ensure food and water safety; and (iii) smart packaging and sustainable materials. The conference will include keynote presentations from renowned experts in the field, interactive panel discussions, and a breakout session that will allow participants to delve deeper into specific topics of interest. There will also be opportunities for networking and collaboration, as well as for showcasing innovative technologies and solutions. The conference will provide a platform for participants to gain new insights, share best practices, and identify potential strategies for enhancing food and water safety. The documentation of the conference results will involve the compilation of presentations, discussions, and reports into a final conference report. The report will be disseminated through publications, presentations, and reports, which will help inform policy and practice in the field. The conference organizers will coordinate a Topical Issue in a relevant academic journal (e.g., Advanced Materials) to further disseminate the research and ideas presented during the conference and fill the gaps in water and food safety discussed in the event.
