Evaluation of Point of Need (PON) Diagnostic Tests

Abstract

The primary goal of this grant is to conduct studies to determine sensitivity and specificity of Role 1 diagnostic devices and Role 0 diagnostic devices compared to respective gold standard laboratory tests for identifying dengue, malaria, melioidosis, and plague. Role 1 devices are being designed to be used in health care clinics and hospitals with clinicians as the end-user. Role 0 devices are being designed to be used by community healthcare personnel in community households. Results from Point of Need (PON) testing studies will be compared in a statistical analysis of the two tests.
