Cochiti Dam and Reservoir Baseline Data Support
Abstract
Cochiti Pueblo, working with the USACE, Albuquerque District, conducted an array of studies intended to characterize the interactions of Cochiti Dam and Reservoir with Pueblo resources. The studies included the acquisition of documents and data from a number of sources. The existing data used to support water, biological, and cultural resources management was collected by multiple stakeholders and was stored in different formats and systems. To make these datasets more easily accessible for use and analysis by stakeholders, the Pueblo and USACE developed a DBMS platform that will enable the Pueblo and USACE to readily access and interact with these data through custom queries, analysis tools, and geographic information system (GIS) mapping capabilities, providing visual and graphic outputs in addition to traditional tables and reports. While the basic DBMS platform has been developed, further development of functionality of the database is needed to facilitate use of and access to the data, incorporation of additional existing data sets will allow for better data analysis, and updating and monitoring of the DBMS system is needed to maintain the capabilities and security of the DBMS.
