Synthesis of Selective Water-Permeable Biomimetic Aquaporins

Abstract

The primary objective of this project is to develop scientific principles and materials that enable new ways to purify water using membranes for a broad range of applications. The research project is proposed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) at the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) in Champaign, Illinois. The Recipients specific stated objective is to develop scalable artificial channel membranes for desalination with the channel design based on spiroligomer water channel proteins.
