Distributed Force Projection Focus Area

Abstract

This focus area explores technologies and capability concepts that seek to cost effectively project force through platforms, command networks, soldier systems, and autonomy thereby extending the range of control and protecting our front-line warfighters and allies. Selected projects enable precision effects, reduce time to react, and provide decision support to increase operational flexibility and improve engagement outcomes. These projects leverage advances in machine learning; technology to enable training, tactics, techniques, and procedures; advanced autonomy; and distributed sensing and effects. Examples include battle management systems and common operating pictures, autonomous distributed platforms that enable asymmetric effects, assured PNT, and force protection.
