Munitions Containerization Program
Abstract
This program will demonstrate next generation packaging, with standardized dimensions/interfaces, that considers unit of issue, permits easy reconfiguration and that is reusable, nestable, automation friendly, and survivable. This new packaging (Ammoblocks) will permit the safe packing and shipping of more and different types of ammo together in user tailored loads; facilitate rapid, less labor intensive reconfiguration and resupply; and facilitate automation upgrades of load/assemble/pack and battlefield resupply operations.
