Social Media Monitoring
Abstract
Starting in FY 2022, the VROC incorporates a Publicly Available Electronic Information (PAEI) program to include social media monitoring as a national-level requirement under Trusted Workforce 2.0 and fulfills the Secretary of Defense’s imperative to leverage PAEI to identify domestic extremism, prior to and during an individual’s DoD affiliation. Leveraging PAEI also fulfills the Secretary’s requirements to improve the vetting of International Military Students who intend to or are currently receiving training within the continental U.S. The investment develops scraping, monitoring, and analysis tools for PAEI, such as social media, in support of national security eligibility determinations.
