14) Enhanced Survivability Coatings
Abstract
This effort supports the Materiel Contamination Mitigation. Military equipment coatings are challenging and logistically intensive to decontaminate. Efforts within this thrust seek to produce enhanced coatings that increase chemical warfare agent survivability and decontaminability of military equipment to levels comparable to that of stainless steel. Improved coatings will resist chemical agent absorption and be quickly decontaminated in field, to rapidly return equipment to mission operations level.
