Battlefield Automated DNA Analysis and Sampling System

Abstract

This project will develop a portable system that enables rapid, fully automated DNA sample preparation and analysis in the field. The proposed architecture employs a novel droplet-based digital microfluidic (DMF) platform as a hub interfacing both intermittent and continuous-flow microchannel-based fluidic modules. This technology is a key component in the development of miniaturized equipment for DNA analysis, and also supports the development of a range of other miniaturized assay equipment.
