Future X-Band Radar (Navy)
Abstract
Tests an off-the-shelf open-architecture Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) X-band aircraft radar for potential application to the Navy's Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) program for ships. Currently, AMDR lacks a modern AESA X-band component to provide horizon surveillance against current and future threats. Initiated test planning in 4Q FY 2018. A contract was awarded for test article procurement late in 4Q FY 2018 using FY 2017 funding and therefore no FY 2018 funding was required. This project continues in FY 2019 with FY 2019 funds.
